From its early history as a 19th century warehouse, through fame as a jazz club and band venue, it forms an integral link to the Auckland of old. In contrast to the history of yesteryear, The Bluestone Room presents a unique blend of historic and hip, making creative use of vibrant colour and design. The spacious layout of this beautifully renovated venue features polished floorboards, timber ceilings and leather upholstery.
With its rough-hewn stone floor entrance way, native Kauri timber ceiling beams and eye catching wood wall panels atop the bare volcanic stone walls, The Bluestone Room has an immediate impact on all those who enter.
The latest edition to the Monteiths family of craft beer bars, The Bluestone Room has a distinct Kiwi-pioneer theme, encompassing state-of-the-art audio-video technology and lighting to help create a wonderful atmosphere for all occasions.
Our function area, located upstairs away from the rush of the main bar, comfortably accommodates 220 seated guests (or up to 350 cocktail style). There is convenient and secure guest parking with a large multi-level car park adjacent. There is also accommodation available across the road at the Heritage City Life, plus plenty of other options only a stones throw away.
The room has been designed with versatility in mind, and can cater to a host of function styles including corporate events, private parties, anniversaries and weddings. We understand the importance of attention to detail for such occasions and have expert staff to accommodate these needs.

The Bluestone Room is a Montieths family bar and is one of the true hidden gems in the heart of Auckland’s city centre, combining the best of heritage and modern inspiration. Upstairs Function Room
The Upstairs Function area, our 300m2 main event space, is laid out in minimalist style – a blank canvas allowing for your event and imagination to take the focus and assume any dressing that is applied to it. This is a one-of-a-kind venue space, limited only by your creativity.
